New Things

Saturday, there was all kinds of activity going on around here.  C & C's birthday party was at VCC and LE and I were in attendance.  Bamma was holding LE while I was fixing her lunch and when I started to take her from Bamma, Bamma said, "You didn't tell me LE had a tooth!"  I responded, "I didn't know she had a tooth!  She didn't have one yesterday!"

I am too cute!
See, I have a tooth!
Saturday afternoon, I had a clothing party at my house.  Jackson, who is five days older than LE, came over with his mom, Melissa, and LE and Jackson sat in the floor and entertained each other.  They were having an extremely important conversation.  It made me wish I knew what they were saying.

Hey!  There's another person just my size!

What an enthralling conversation!
We had a busy, full weekend, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!  I look forward to more entertaining weekends in the future.

Busy Week

This has been a pretty busy week in our household.  I started back to school Monday, so LE started day care that day as well.  When we got to her day care and walked in the room, LE's eyes got really wide and she opened her mouth really big.  She did her best to take in everything she was seeing.  Since she was so enthralled, I felt really comfortable leaving her there.

Ready for the first day!
When I picked her up, I asked her teachers how it had gone.  They said she did really well.  When I looked at her information sheet, it showed that she had "napped" from 9:00 to 9:20 and from 1:30 to 2:15.  I knew that she would be a rag when she got home and she most definitely was!

Every day this week, she has awakened bright-eyed and raring to go!  It is so nice to start the day with a smiling, happy baby!

So happy!

Thursday night, Ken had to run some errands.  After he left, I realized I needed him to pick up some formula, so I called him to ask him to do so.  He said that he would take care of it.  Well, not only did he get the formula, but he also bought LE a gorilla the size of Lola!  He said, "Every girl needs a gorilla."  Who can argue with that kind of logic?

Not so sure about this thing.

Maybe it's not so bad after all!

Five Months

Still loving playing with her feet

My sweet little girl is growing up so quickly!  I cannot believe that she is already five months old.  She is rolling over--from back to tummy and tummy to back, trying to sit up (with help), testing her voice with new sounds and vocals, eating pears and applesauce from a spoon, and generally developing her own little personality.  I love that I have been able to spend all this time with her and I'm surprised at how quickly time has gone by.

I can't believe that summer is almost over.  Next week, LE will start day care and I will start my fifteenth (!) year teaching.  I'm sure that I will miss spending my days with her, but I am also looking forward to returning to the classroom.

I love this little one so much and can't wait to see her grow and develop even more.
What a sweetie!

The Beach Photos

When we were growing up, at some point in the summer, my mother would have the three of us pose for pictures on the beach.  There was a great deal of moaning and groaning about this from all three of us, but upon reflection I'm glad that she took those pictures.  As we look at them, they bring back many memories of time spent together as a family.

With that in mind, I got Ken and LE up early-ish Sunday morning so we could tromp over to the beach to take some family pictures before it got too hot.  Bamma was our photographer and she got some great shots of all of us.  This was LE's first trip over to the "BEACH beach" (to quote C & C), so I made sure to put her feet in the water and let a few little waves wash over them.  She loved it and splashed her feet in the water.

Our little family

This is the kind of picture Bamma used to take of us--always had sea oats in the background.

LE loves to splash in the water.

She loves it when I "throw" her up in the air.  Look at that smile!

Ken is not always a cooperative participant in pictures--but he does make me laugh.

Studying Daddy VERY closely--you never know what he might do.

Bamma--our picture-taker extraordinaire!
I look forward to more family picture taking opportunities in the future!
