Ladies (and Gentlemen) Who Lunch

Friday, April 27 was a "make-up weather day" at my school.  Since it didn't have to be used as a make-up day, several of my friends and I decided to meet for lunch at Ed.gar's.  We pretty much took over the restaurant--and anyone who knows us, knows that this is not hard to imagine!

The food was delicious and the company was even better!  There has been a "baby boom" at our school this year--7 born since September (6 boys and 1 girl)--and three of them joined us for lunch.

Thank you to all my wonderful friends who came to lunch and allowed me to have some MUCH NEEDED adult interaction!  Those of you who weren't able to join us, I do hope you will be able to join us next time.  I can't wait until we can do it again!

Soccer

LE and I invited ourselves to watch Carter play soccer Sunday.  Sue was out of town and since Nick was coaching the team, Bamma and Big Pat had been called in to "handle" the Diva while the game was going on.  LE and I tagged along, since I had yet to see a game.

Before the game, the team had their pictures taken--both individual and team shots.  They were all so cute and were looking forward to practicing and playing in the game.  Callen took this opportunity to give us a blow-by-blow rundown of what they had been doing while Mommy was gone.  She commanded attention and told us everything--from the time she got up until the time she went to sleep--about where they had gone, what they had done, and even what they had eaten.

Once the game started, we all were cheering for the team and Callen was giving both her daddy and her brother directions from the sidelines.  Carter had some really good kicks during the game, but it seemed to me that he liked rolling around in the grass after he kicked more than anything!

Callen took a slight interest in LE during the game.  She turned around in her seat and checked LE out in the stroller and commented on the fact that LE was sleeping.  She finally condescended to walk around and look at LE in the stroller with Big Pat and Bamma and she even touched her--even though it was one finger on one toe, it's progress!  I'm glad to see that she's warming up, even if it's just a little bit.  (I think it might have helped that Sue wasn't there holding LE too.)

It was a great afternoon and I'm so glad that I got to see Carter play!

Easter 2012

My parents, Ken, LE, and I went to the Easter Vigil service Saturday night and then had dinner at our house.  It was a relatively laid back evening and we enjoyed the food and the company.

My sister and brother-in-law invited us to have Easter brunch with them at the country club on Sunday.  We were so glad to join them and spend LE's first Easter with our family.  The food was delicious and the company was even better.  There was even an appearance by the Easter Bunny!  It was a great way to spend our first holiday as a family and I can't thank the Willis clan enough for their hospitality.

One Month Already!

I cannot believe that LE has been with us a month already!  Time has FLOWN by.  I have learned so much about being a mommy in that time.  For example, I never knew that there were so many different cries AND that, for the most part, I can tell what each one means!  I am looking forward to learning more about--and from--this little one.

Visitors Are Welcome!

Since we've been home, there have been many people--not just family--who have come by to visit and meet LE.  I am so thankful to everyone who has visited, in part for giving me other adults to interact with and also for helping to welcome LE into our world!  When we got home, I instituted a "rule" that anyone who visited had to have his/her picture taken for posterity's sake and, so far, I've only missed two people.  (Sorry, Melissa & Dave!)  I feel truly blessed to have so many people in my life who want to meet our precious new gift and I look forward to introducing her to those who have not yet had an opportunity to meet her!
